The SuperHalfs project is captivating the global running community, inviting runners from around the world to embark on a unique journey through six of Europe’s most picturesque and culturally rich cities. Designed to inspire runners of all levels, SuperHalfs encourages participants to complete half marathons in Lisbon, Prague, Berlin, Copenhagen, Cardiff, and Valencia—all for the ultimate reward: the prestigious SuperMedal.
Founded by RunCzech, the SuperHalfs concept was created to inspire runners to explore new destinations while embracing the challenge of completing an exclusive race series. Since its launch, SuperHalfs has attracted thousands of dedicated runners who are not only pushing their limits but also immersing themselves in local cultures and sharing unforgettable experiences with fellow athletes. Each year, thousands register to take on the challenge. Originally, participants had up to 60 months to complete all six races, but as of February 2025, this time limit has been removed, allowing runners to finish the series at their own pace.
This year’s SuperRace—the Generali Prague Half Marathon—will welcome an impressive 16,000 runners, reinforcing its status as one of the premier races in the SuperHalfs series. The numbers speak for themselves—tens of thousands of runners are already on their SuperJourney, with many more set to begin in the coming years. This steady rise in participation highlights the growing appeal of combining sport with travel, as more runners and their supporters turn each race into a memorable experience. With the continuous expansion of the SuperHalfs community, participation is expected to increase significantly in the coming years, bringing even more energy and excitement to each host city.
Although the SuperHalfs series is designed for everyday runners, the races also showcase world-class performances. Some of the fastest half marathon times in history have been recorded at these events. The 2024 season was particularly spectacular, beginning with Sabastian Sawe’s remarkable performance at the Prague Half Marathon (58:24), where he set the fastest time of the year. Later, in Copenhagen, he surpassed his own leading half marathon time for men (58:05).
This year, all eyes will be on the athlete who finished just five seconds behind Sawe in Copenhagen, securing third place – Isaia Kipkoech Lasoi (58:10) – the fourth-fastest half marathon time ever. He will headline the elite field, aiming to challenge Sawe’s race record in Prague. For more information and to start your own SuperHalfs journey, visit superhalfs.com.
