Peres Jepchirchir wins Prague 10k with world lead, Daniel Chebii takes men’s race

Peres Jepchirchir ran the fastest women’s 10k in the world this year as the Kenyan clocked 30:55 to win the Birell Prague Grand Prix on Saturday evening.

This is also a course record. Her impressive solo run from the gun took her clear of runner-up Linah Cheruto and Ethiopia’s Alema Kidsan. Daniel Chebii also impressed to win the men’s title in 27:42, the third fastest in the world in 2015. The Kenyan repeated his victory in the event from 2013. Compatriots Gilbert Masai and Barselius Kipyego finished second and third. The Birell Prague Grand Prix is an IAAF Gold Label Road Race.
