The RunCzech races will also include the dm family mile. It will bring the joy of movement to entire families across generations
After a successful series of dm family runs, which have accompanied the legendary Prague International Marathon and half marathons across the country over the past decade, the organizer of the RunCzech races is coming up with a new addition. This season, for the first time, a non-competitive run for the whole family, regardless the age or performance, the dm family mile will become part of the prestigious races. "With this new concept, we want to bring the beauty of movement and shared sporting experiences closer to everyone, regardless the age or condition," explains Carlo Capalbo, President of the RunCzech Organizing Committee, adding: "We believe that entire families across all generations will take part in the dm family mile runs and share unforgettable moments together."
A study by World Athletics confirms that the one-mile route is the most suitable distance for parents and young children to run together, but also for grandparents and grandchildren. The one-mile course appeals to all ages not only because of its manageable length, but more importantly because it allows the entire running field to stay together, enhancing the shared running experience.
The dm family mile runs will offer several categories, tailored to each participant: Children from 8 to 14 years without parents, Family and Adults, Grandparents and Grandchildren and Walk. There is something for everyone, and at the same time everyone will be able to experience the thrilling atmosphere of a big running race.
Each participant is also a winner in the dm Family Mile. For the new concept of the run, RunCzech has prepared a special limited collection of robot-themed medals. Each race medal will feature a robot with unique abilities - just as everyone who takes part in the race is unique.
